canadian national exhibition.

I went to the C.N.E. last night with my boyfriend. We planned on going during the day but he had to work. So, around 8:30 p.m. we found a parking spot near Fleet St. and Lakeshore Blvd. Costing $20.00 (eugh), my boyfriend parked the car on the grass and said "I should buy a random lot downtown and charge people $20.00 to get in. I'd make a fortune." It's so true. The lot we were parked in must have been holding at least 1000 cars at that moment, thats $20000.00 right there. Throughout the course of the day, people come and go, so from 10 a.m. to midnight, the owner of that parking lot is making a lot more than twenty grand. That being said, the Ex. runs for 19 days. That's about $380000.00 in a little over two weeks! Wow.

Anyways, we made our way to the entrances to pay our $1.75 entrance fee, who doesn't love opening day of the Ex now! Then, we went to the food building and grabbed a bite to eat and a drink. Then we walked over to the farm building and saw ostridges, alpacas, pigs, cows, horses, lambs, chickens, goats, and bees. Looking at all of these cute animals, I felt horrible for not being a vegetarian. A little baby cow was licking everyone that came by to pet it, too cute! How can I eat something like that? Ah, my heart.

Afterwards, my boyfriend and I made our way to the rides! On our way, a game operator yelled "Hey miss, where's your teddy bear? Make sure he sleeps on the couch tonight ;)." I laughed. My boyfriend wanted to win me a toy but I'm not the type to insist he do something. Those games can get expensive too. I know it is all part of the experience, but it's not the last time we'll go to a festival or carnival.

Then, we went to buy 24 ride tickets so we could go on 2 rides. That came to $22.00. We went on the Polar Express (tradition in my family) and the sketchy swing ride. Each ride cost us $11.00, great. Oh well, it was really fun and it felt good to feel like a kid again! I haven't been to the C.N.E. in years. Ever since my aunt passed away my family hasn't really gone. I'm happy I went this year :)

After our big spend, haha, we made our way back to the car. We drove home with z103.5's live broadcast from Sugar Daddys. This happened to be a tonne of wayback playbacks which was a score! Good music and good people always make a slow ride home on the Don Valley Parkway more fun.

XOXO
