finally, this saturday has arrived.

My plan for today was to sleep in, have a big breakfast, relax for most of the day, and then to reach the Backstreet Boys concert tonight with my best girlfriends. Majority of that did occur, minus the sleeping in part. I realize it's childish and probably really lame, but I woke up this morning with the most excitement I've felt in a long time. It's been two years since my last Backstreet Boys concert and, let me tell you, it was epic.

Ever since their Millennium tour, I've been to every single show. My first BSB experience was on the floor of the Air Canada Centre. My Dad somehow got me tickets only thirty rows away from the stage. My favourite song at the time was "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" and much to my surprise, the fab five sang that song only metres away from my row. You see, they went backstage for a costume change and when they returned, the boys were on a small temporary stage rising up higher into the stadium, so close that I could see their expressions.

The best part? I was holding a sign with a picture of Brian Littrell (my absolute favourite man besides Dallas Green, my boyfriend, and my father) on it. Brian saw the photo of him, reenacted the pose, and continued to sing my favourite song. Seriously, that was the best moment of my life. I could have cried.

No, I'm not a psychotic BSB fan who would surpass legal limits, but it is a dream of mine to have the chance to meet the boys from my all-time favourite boy band. What kills me is that two nights ago, Nick Carter held a movie premier for a film he directed in Toronto. If I had known this two days ago, I would have so gone down. Know what else kills me? Brian Littrell tweeted where he was for dinner last night. A lucky fan found him, got a picture with the star, and then Brian posted the photo on Twitter today. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME!

In all seriousness, I'm just very excited to go eat Thai food with my besties, go buy a Backstreet Boys' t-shirt, wear my BSB trucker hat, take pictures, and sing until I have no voice left.

The only problem? I have to work tomorrow morning. Whatever, tonight is the night where I expose the true shape of my heart. And, in case you are wondering my opinion on this, N'Sync will never compare to the boys from Lexington and Orlando.

Backstreets back, alright.

I think it's awesome you're still a Backstreet fangirl. I was never obsessed with any boy band, but I had an english teacher who once spent an entire class period talking about her love of the Boys down the Block (or something, idk).
