I LOVE this quote. Random Maya Angelou fact: she was raped by her mom's BF and when she told people about it, someone in her family who had gang ties beat him up or killed him, then she didn't talk for YEARS. A teacher gave her a book to read out loud in her room when no one was around, and that was what finally got her talking again, after years of silence.
ANYWAYS, I just thought that was interesting.
