the tragically hip are back.

Canada's Gordon Dowie, Paul Langlois, Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair, and Johnny Fay, the boys of the Tragically Hip (aka the Hip) have recorded a new album called "We are the same" that will be released in North America on April 7.

The guys will be in touch with CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos on April 6 to promote their new album where they will take part in a live concert and interview shown in numerous theatres across Canada.

The Hip and George Stroumboulopolus are making appearances at Cineplex Entertainment theatres all over Ontario including Ancaster, Barrie, Belleville, Guelph, Ottawa, Peterborough, Richmond Hill, Waterloo, Woodbridge, and of course Toronto.

Their concert and interview will also be shown in Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal, Quebec City, and other Canadian cities and towns. For more details, check out their website. Here is the link: http://www.thehip.com/news-events/

One of their new singles, "Love is a first" has reached #1 in Canada.

"Love is a first" is about the troubles of love. What I got from the lyrics was that once you can get through love, you can get through anything. The band often refers to love as a curse in the new single which assumes that love can invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm. They continue to sing, "...I've been too weak to escape," which confirms that someone's got them tied.

The lyrics are quite beautiful, actually. To take a look at them you should check out this link: http://www.songlyrics.com/tragically-hip/love-is-a-first/334765/

This is the song line-up for the new album:
